Our Mission Statement
We, the Roman Catholic faith community of St. Edith Stein Parish, affirm
our commitment to our Lord, Savior and Brother Jesus Christ, who is the
way, the truth and the life. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, prayer and the
sacraments we use our gifts and talents to minister to all people; living
out our baptismal call to proclaim the resurrected Christ to all the nations.
We center on the sacramental life of the Church, communal liturgical worship,
adherence to the teachings of our faith, and our commitment to love God
above all else and our neighbor as our self. Through God's grace, the intercession
of Mary and all the Saints, we continue in our mission to live, share and
celebrate the Gospel.

History of St. Edith Stein Parish
(compiled by Rose Anderson)
|
St. Edith Stein Parish traces its humble beginnings to St. Trinity
approximately 14 years ago when a small group of English parishioners came
together to form a distinct English Faith Community.
We began with an English Saturday evening mass. Not long after, the
mass was celebrated on Sunday morning at 9:30.
In 1997, Archbishop Gervais suggested we choose the name Blessed Edith
Stein where we became the first parish to have then Blessed Edith Stein
as our patroness. In 1998, Father Yves Marcheldon was appointed pastor
of the English community. (continued here ) |
